Terms of Service

1. Overview

Torn Activity Tracker ("the Service") is a community tool that tracks player activity in Torn City. The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Torn City or Torn Ltd. By using this Service, you agree to these terms.

2. API Key Usage

To use the Service, you must provide a valid Torn API key. By registering, you authorize us to use your API key for the following purposes:

• Polling user activity data — to track when players were last active using the Torn API
• Validating your identity — when you login or register
• Fetching faction members — when you request faction activity data

3. Data Handling Disclosure

In compliance with Torn's API Terms of Service, below is a summary of how we handle your data:

4. What Data We Collect

• From registered users: Torn user ID, username, faction ID, and API key
• From the Hall of Fame: Player IDs, usernames, and last-action timestamps for all players listed in the HoF
• Tracking data: For each tracked player, whether they were active or inactive in each 15-minute time slot, organized by day of the week
• API call logs: Timestamps, success/failure status, error codes, and which API key was used (for operational monitoring only)

5. How Your API Key Is Used

Your API key is used in a shared polling rotation with other registered users' keys. The polling system:

• Rotates between all active API keys, using the least-recently-used key first
• Never uses a single key more than once per minute
• Stays well within Torn's rate limit of 100 requests per minute per user
• Automatically disables your key if Torn reports a permanent error (e.g., incorrect key, key paused by owner)
• Re-enables your key when you log in again with a valid key

6. Your Rights

• Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time using the "Delete Account" page. This removes your user ID, username, and API key from the database.
• Key revocation: You can revoke your API key in Torn at any time. The polling system will automatically stop using a revoked key.
• Data visibility: Activity tracking data derived from public Hall of Fame data is visible to all registered users.

7. Rate Limits and Fair Use

The Service enforces rate limits to prevent abuse. Automated scraping or excessive use of the Service may result in temporary or permanent suspension.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not responsible for:

• Accuracy or completeness of tracking data
• Any consequences arising from use of the data provided
• Actions taken by Torn against your account or API key
• Service downtime or data loss

Use of activity tracking data for harassment, stalking, or any behavior that violates Torn's rules is strictly prohibited and may result in permanent ban from the Service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
